Everything you need to know about Australia’s upcoming multi-format tour of Sri Lanka, featuring three T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests.
There were clouds of uncertainty over Australia’s upcoming multi-format tour of Sri Lanka, given the current situation in the island nation, with there being a shortage of food, fuel and power. However, it was confirmed by Sri Lanka Cricket that the tour will go ahead as planned, with the white-ball games set to be played under lights.
“There is no disruption in the schedule and the white ball games will be night or day-night affairs,” SLC secretary Mohan de Silva had told Cricbuzz earlier this week.
Australia have already arrived in Sri Lanka, with the first T20I set to be played on Tuesday, June 7. The tourists will be without the services of newly appointed head coach Andrew McDonald, who tested positive for covid-19 ahead of the tour. Australia had hosted Sri Lanka for five T20Is in February this year, and won each of the first four games including a Super Over finish, before going down by five-wickets in the fifth.
