Gujarat Titan's captain Hardik Pandya dismisses Rajasthan Royal's skipper Sanju Samson via run-out

Hardik Pandya's timely dismissal of Sanju Samson was just what the Gujarat Titans were looking for in order to get back in the game. Samson who was on 11 tried to sneak a single by hitting it straight to the opposition captain but ultimately resulted in him throwing his wicket away. Hardik aimed at the stumps and went on to break the middle one into two pieces. This made the Rajasthan Royals suffer as they went into 74-4 in just 7.3 overs.

WATCH: Hardik's throw makes the stump shatter as Samson takes the long walk toward the pavilion:

Put in to bat by the Royals, Gujarat were off to a bad start with them losing Wade, Shankar, and Gill cheaply. However, a beautiful stand between Hardik Pandya and Abhinav Manohar helped to reach a decent score. Manohar after a great innings was dismissed for 43 by Pandya continued his form by joining hands with the South African David Miller. Hardik* 87(52) and Miller* 31(14) helped the Titans post a massive 192-4 in their 20 overs.

In reply, Rajasthan kicked off the chase in a very positive way with Jos Buttler fully capitalizing on the first overs by scoring 28 runs. However, wickets fell at the other end with Padikkal going for a first-ball duck, and Ashwin who was promoted to number 3 to play big shots failed after scoring just 8. Buttler then continued his brilliance by bringing up his half-century off just 23 balls. Rajasthan team had hopes of dethroning Gujarat but unfortunately, Buttler was dismissed for 54 when Lockie Ferguson bowled a peach of a delivery. His wicket along with Samson departing next made RR go into more trouble as they lost their major top-order batsmen in just under 8 overs. Hardik's throw made Gujarat come back into the game which was very crucial in them securing a win after their first loss against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in their previous game.
