Siraj didn't have a good day with the ball but enjoyed batting as he scored 14 runs off just 11 balls.

Over the years, MS Dhoni mastered the shot and Siraj also did well to play it in front of him.

MS Dhoni might not be the first to play the helicopter shot in the history of cricket but he is the man who played the shot to perfection. With strong wrists and huge power, the man time and again sent the bowler into the stands during his illustrious career and can still do it in the IPL on his day.

However, even the other batters have played the much talked about shot to show off their hitting skills. And the newest addition to the list on Tuesday (April 12) was none other than Mohammed Siraj. It happened during the game between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the last over.

Chasing 217 runs, despite trying hard, only formalities were left in the final over as RCB were certain to fall short. The last-wicket pair of Siraj and Josh Hazlewood was in the middle. There were no hopes for RCB to win as they needed 28 runs off the final ball of the innings.

And this is when Siraj brought out his helicopter shot to play it off Dwayne Bravo. It was an overpitched delivery from the bowler and Siraj audaciously smashed the ball down the ground past the mid-off for a brilliant four even as MS Dhoni stood behind watching him play the shot he mastered over the years.

There was not much significance to the runs that came as RCB’s losing margin reduced a bit. This turned out to be their second loss of the season in five matches while CSK finally got off the mark in their fifth game.

As for Mohammed Siraj, it was a forgettable game for him. He took the new ball in his hands but given the conditions, there was not much on the surface for him to exploit. With the ball not swinging, the CSK batters took him on, especially in the death overs as he ended up conceding 37 runs in his four overs without picking up a wicket.
