He remained unbeaten while propelling his team over the finishing line.
A Gujarat Titans (GT) star delivered an outstanding performance, leading the Barbados Royals (BR) to a 9-wicket victory over the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in the recent Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2024) eliminator. South Africa’s David Miller, who plies his trade with the Gujarat-based franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) hammered a quickfire unbeaten 50 off just 17 balls, guiding his team to victory.
The match, however, was not without controversy, as the DLS method came into play following a lengthy disruption due to a floodlight failure.
New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull, commentating on the match, reminded viewers that 10:52 PM local time was the cut-off for a five-over contest. Despite this, the lights remained unfixed past the deadline, and the match eventually resumed at 11:01 PM, with the five-over innings for the Royals proceeding, seemingly against regulations.

At the time of the floodlight failure, TKR batter Nicholas Pooran was on the verge of his second consecutive century in CPL 2024, standing at 91 off 60 balls, with TKR at 168/3 in 19.1 overs. The delay lasted more than two hours.
Barbados was set a revised target of 60 runs in five overs. Despite losing opener Quinton de Kock in the first over, Miller came in at No. 3, hitting a six off his second ball and scoring 50 from 17 balls to secure the win with four balls remaining.
The Royals’ dressing room erupted in celebration as Miller’s heroics ensured that they book their spot in Qualifier 2, where they will face the loser of the Qualifier 1 clash between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and Saint Lucia Kings.
