3 IPL Stars Set to Lose their ‘Uncapped Player’ Status in IND vs BAN T20Is

3 IPL standouts from KKR, LSG, and SRH are on the cusp of earning the national cap in the Bangladesh series.

The three-match T20I series between India and Bangladesh will begin on Sunday (October 6) in Gwalior. India’s squad has several fresh names who impressed in the Bangladesh series.

Most players who impressed in IPL 2024 are included in the series, and rightly so. A few of them are yet to play for India but will likely get an opportunity at some stage of the series.

3 IPL standouts from SRH, LSG, and KKR are on the cusp of earning the national cap in the Bangladesh series.

Nitish Kumar Reddy

Nitish Kumar Reddy was among the most exciting all-rounders in the previous edition and showed signs of being a potential all-format player at the highest level. He was selected for the Zimbabwe series earlier this year, but an injury ruled him out.

However, he will definitely get to play as an all-rounder, even though Hardik Pandya is available. Reddy becoming capped would cause further headaches for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who already have a problem of plenty ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.

Mayank Yadav

Mayank Yadav is the latest pace sensation in the town, and the hype around him is obvious. No wonder he has been fast-tracked to the Indian setup and is in line to debut in the Bangladesh series.

Mayank has 7 wickets at an average of 12.14 and a strike rate of 10.42 in four outings while playing for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2024. He can trouble the Bangladeshi batters with his pace and should get a chance to debut.

Harshit Rana

Harshit Rana was among the finest bowlers in IPL 2024 and played a crucial role in making Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) victorious. He snared 19 wickets at an average of 20.15 and a strike rate of 13.31 in 11 outings.

Rana was part of the Zimbabwe series but didn’t get to play in any of the five matches. However, he is expected to play a few games in this rubber, given he is among the few pacers in the squad.
