Harry Brook Latest Entrant in Test Triple Century Club: Full List of Players to Score 300 in Tests

There have been 28 players in the history of the game to score a triple century.

Harry Brook notched up a magnificent triple century against Pakistan in the first Test in Multan, becoming the latest entrant in an elite list. On a batting paradise, Brook played another top-class knock against an opponent he enjoys playing the most.

Coming in at No.5, Brook was flawless from the first delivery and played magnificent shots one after another. He raced away to his triple ton in just 310 deliveries, becoming the second-fastest to reach the 300-run mark, only behind Virender Sehwag’s 278 balls.

Eventually, Brook got out on 317 in 322 balls, including 29 boundaries and three maximums, at a strike rate of 98.45. It was a marathon knock from him, scoring the fifth most runs by an English batter in a Test innings.

Joe Root also came close to scoring a triple ton in the game but fell short by 38 runs. Before Agha Salman dismissed him, he scored 262 runs in 375 deliveries, including 17 boundaries.

Full List of Players to Score 300 in Tests

There have been 28 players in the history of the game to score a triple century. Out of those, only four batters have made multiple triple tons, named Don Bradman, Chris Gayle, Brian Lara, and Virender Sehwag, who have scored two triple centuries each.

The last batter before Harry Brook to score a triple ton was David Warner, who made 335* runs against Pakistan in Adelaide in 2019. Further, at 25 years and 220 days, he is also the second-youngest English batter to reach the 300-run mark in Tests, only behind Len Hutton, who was 22 years and 58 days old when he reached this feat.

Other English batters in the list are John Edrich, Graham Gooch, Wally Hammond, and Andy Sandham, who have a solitary triple century in Tests. The last English batter to reach 300 was Graham Gooch, who scored 333 runs against India at the iconic Lord’s in 1990.

Brook has 785 runs at an average of 130.83, including one fifty and four centuries, in Pakistan in Tests. Given the kind of tracks in Pakistan, Brook will surely make these numbers better in the coming matches.
