The 35-year-old is on the verge of joining the elite 9000-run club in Test cricket. If he reaches this milestone, he will become the fourth Indian batter to do so, following Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Sunil Gavaskar. Tendulkar holds the record for the most Test runs ever, with 15,921, making him the highest run-scorer among Indian players.
