Stokes' innings came to an unusual end when he charged down the pitch to Noman Ali, losing his grip on the bat in the process.
During the recently concluded PAK vs ENG 2nd Test, England skipper Ben Stokes was sent back to the pavilion in a rather dramatic fashion.
Chasing 297 for a series-clinching 2-0 victory, the visiting team found themselves in a dire situation, losing 7 wickets and still needing more than 160 runs to win.
Ben Stokes looked in good touch, having scored 37 from 36 balls while putting up a fight against Pakistan’s bowling attack, following a series of early wickets.
However, his innings came to an unusual end when he charged down the pitch to left-arm spinner Noman Ali, losing his grip on the bat in the process. This resulted in an easy stumping by Mohammad Rizwan.
Stokes’ dismissal went viral on social media for its amusing nature and also marked Noman Ali’s fifth wicket of the innings.

Pakistan’s spinners, Noman Ali and Sajid Khan, exploited the turning pitch, putting relentless pressure on England’s batting lineup. The Three Lions, starting at 36 for 2, quickly collapsed, losing Ollie Pope, Joe Root, and Harry Brook, the triad of centurions from the first Test—and tumbled to 78 for 5.
Amazingly, only two Pakistani bowlers were used until the 32nd over of the second innings, with Noman and Sajid tearing through England’s batting order. All-rounder Brydon Carse tried to offer some resistance, hitting three sixes in his 27, but he too was undone by Noman Ali’s spin.
Noman then claimed his seventh wicket by forcing an inside edge from Jack Leach, leaving England at 144 with their 9th wicket down. Shoaib Bashir was the final wicket to fall for a golden duck.
Noman Ali’s remarkable performance saw him claim his first career 10-wicket haul in just his 16th Test. He took three wickets during England’s first innings and eight scalps in the second.
Pakistan ultimately sealed a 152-run win, marking their first home Test victory in over three years.
