[WATCH] Rohit Sharma reacts to fan’s request to join RCB in IPL 2025

The speculations surrounding Rohit Sharma's possible future grows stronger as the IPL 2025 auction approaches.

With the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) auction expected to be held sometime in November-December, the anticipation surrounding it has already started peaking.

And with that, the speculations regarding former Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma’s possible future have gotten stronger.

On the sidelines of the ongoing IND vs NZ 1st Test at Bengaluru, Rohit was urged by a fan to join the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise for the IPL 2025 season.

As Rohit was making his way towards the Indian dressing room, fans in the stands cheered him on.

An enthusiastic supporter then asked which IPL team he would like to join in IPL 2025.

“Bhai IPL mein konsa team?” he quizzed.

Although Rohit didn’t reveal anything specific, the fan continued urging him to join RCB with affection.

“Bhai RCB mein aajao yar. Love you bhai,” the fan said.

Rohit Sharma expected to be retained by MI ahead of IPL 2025

Ahead of the last season (IPL 2024), MI removed Rohit Sharma from captaincy and handed it over to premier all-rounder Hardik Pandya.

However, the five-time IPL champions had a dismal campaign under Pandya’s leadership, finishing at the bottom of the table with just four wins and as many as 10 losses.

While fans would definitely like to see the India skipper leading a side in the IPL if not MI, it seems unlikely that Rohit will be shifting bases.

Recent reports suggest that India’s T20 World Cup-winning skipper is likely to be one of four core players retained by Mumbai Indians for the upcoming IPL season. Alongside him, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav are expected to stay with the franchise.
