Yuvraj was the top run scorer in Uttarakhand Premier League
Yuvraj Chaudhary, a rising star from Uttarakhand, has caught everyone’s attention with his impressive performances in the Uttrakhand Premier League and domestic cricket this year. He is a flexible batter, capable of opening the innings or playing in the middle order.
He opened the innings in the 2023/24 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) and then went on to score 244 runs in six matches, which included two half-centuries.

Yuvraj was simply sensational in the Uttarakhand Premier League, where he emerged as the top run-getter by scoring 322 runs in five matches. He scored a century, three half-centuries and had a strike rate of 192.81.
He has batted in the middle order so far for Uttarakhand in the Ranji Trophy and already made a mark with scores of 88 and 49 in the two games thus far.
With the IPL auction now in sight, his form at this point has put him in the limelight. Notably, two teams have already shown interest in him, and he is likely to be one of the key targets for them in the IPL auction.

Mumbai Indians, the five-time IPL champions, have invited Yuvraj Chaudhary for trials. After finishing at the bottom last season, they might look to target him in the upcoming auction. Mumbai already has some of the best top-six Indian batters in the league, but with retention rules in place, they can’t keep everyone. Each team is allowed to retain only five capped and one uncapped player.
Mumbai will likely retain key players like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah. For the next season, they’ll need to find players who can open and also bat in the middle order. With Yuvraj’s recent performances, he could be a great fit for the team if MI decides to go for him in the auction.
Another team that invited Yuvraj Chaudhary for trials is Rajasthan Royals. After making it to the playoffs last season, the Royals might look to target him in the auction. They are expected to retain key batters Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag, and Jos Buttler.
Beyond Parag, however, they don’t have an Indian player who can consolidate the middle order. With the recent performance of Yuvraj, he would fit in well with Rajasthan. If they add him, Rajasthan could settle for a good combination of Indian stars at the top and solid performers in the middle order.
