Rajasthan Royals have retained six players before the IPL 2025 auction. As per the retention rules, each team can keep a maximum of six players, with at least one player being uncapped.
RR have filled all their retention slots by keeping Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, and Shimron Hetmyer as capped players, while Sandeep Sharma, who last played internationally in 2015, is considered an uncapped player.
As per IPL rules, if a team retains fewer than six players, they can use Right to Match (RTM) cards for the unfilled slots.

The rule says that,”The IPL franchises can retain a total of 6 players from their existing squad. This can be either via retention or by using the Right to Match (RTM) option”.
Since Rajasthan Royals have retained the maximum allowed six players, they are not eligible to use the RTM card in the IPL 2025 auction.
