National anthem stops due to technical issues but Indian players continue singing during SA vs IND 1st T20I [WATCH]

Despite the glitch and the players getting confused, they focussed on singing in a heartwarming moment.

During the ongoing SA vs IND 1st T20I, the national anthem of India stopped midway due to some technical issues. However, despite the glitch and the players getting confused, they focussed on singing in a heartwarming moment that has now gone viral on social media.

What was meant to be a straightforward process quickly spiralled. Typically, in a bilateral series, the host nation’s anthem is played first. What had happened was, to the surprise of both players and fans, the Indian national anthem began unexpectedly. It was then abruptly stopped just moments after the players had started singing.

India and South Africa are locking horns in a four-match T20I series, with the series opener being played today at the Kingsmead in Durban.

India face early setback but SKY, Samson make amends

Speaking about the match, the Indian team was put to bat first by hosts South Africa. Since Suryakumar Yadav took over as captain after Rohit Sharma relinquished the skipper duties, the Men in Blue have looked a transformed side, focusing on aggressive play and consistently aiming to clear the boundary.

India’s start with the bat in the current game wasn’t ideal. Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for just 7 runs by Gerald Coetzee. However, Sanju Samson and captain Suryakumar Yadav then stepped up, to put the Proteas back under pressure.
