Gujarat Titans (GT) retained five players before the IPL 2025 auction.
Gujarat Titans (GT) were among the most consistent sides in the previous cycle, qualifying for playoffs twice in three attempts. They won the title in their maiden season in 2022 and came very close to winning for the second consecutive time in 2023 before falling short against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
However, they were compelled to leave out several quality players in the Indian and overseas departments. However, they will have one Right To Match (RTM) available during the auction to use on capped players.
Given the kind of options GT had, they will definitely look to use on a few players. We try guessing three players GT might look to use RTM on.
Releasing David Miller was one of the biggest moves by Gujarat Titans on the retention deadline. However, he was among their finest performers in the last cycle and offers firepower in the middle order because he is a solid player of pace.
Generally, proven finishers are hard to find, so GT will definitely look to get him back. His playing style suits perfectly to the conditions in Ahmedabad, and his vast experience will aid Gujarat Titans.

Mohammed Shami was Gujarat Titans’ finest pacer in the previous cycle, but his recent injury issues compelled them to leave him. However, he is slowly getting to his best and will be an asset when fully fit.
Shami’s ability to swing the new ball will always be an advantage in Ahmedabad, and his death-overs skillsets are also really good. Indian pacers are the main part of an IPL XI, and Shami is a proven performer, so GT will definitely look to get him back.
Despite playing with Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad carved a niche for himself and emerged as a genuine wicket-taker for the franchise. He showed his superior variations with the ball and took the best batters down, especially in the middle overs.
Given GT have retained Rashid, they would like to get Noor back and complete the spin attack. Hence, if the auction dynamics allow, GT will definitely try getting Noor via RTM.
