According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI recently informed IPL franchises that two sets of marquee players will be available in the IPL 2025 mega auction. The auction is scheduled for November 24 and 25 in Jeddah.
This time, the BCCI will present two marquee sets, each with 8–9 players. In comparison, only one marquee set was available in the 2022 auction, while both the 2014 and 2018 auctions featured two sers.
Several prominent players are likely to appear in the marquee set, including Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, R Ashwin, Mitchell Starc, and Jos Buttler, as reported by Cricbuzz.
Each marquee player has set a base price of INR 2 crore, and it’s anticipated that by the end of these first two marquee sets, teams may have used up around 30-50% of their budget, aiming to secure at least two star players.
