Due to the auction dynamics, several teams have released quality Indian pacers, so most will be up for sale during the auction.
While forming an IPL XI, no other player plays as crucial a role as Indian pacers. The bowling unit revolves around them, and their performances mostly define how the season will go.
Bowlers bowling in the death overs are even more crucial, for they make or break the game for their side. Due to the auction dynamics, several teams have released quality Indian pacers, so most will be up for sale during the auction.
We look at the six best death-over bowlers in the IPL 2025 auction.
T Natarajan is probably the best death-over bowler available in the upcoming auction. He has solid control over his yorkers and has a few slower ones to remain unpredictable.
Natarajan is a proven performer in the league and has been consistent for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the last few years. Hence, he will be in demand again and fetch a handsome amount.
Harshal Patel didn’t start the last season on a bright note but slowly gained rhythm and performed exceptionally in the second half. He has a range of slower ones and knows how and when to use them.
Further, his pace-on deliveries are also quite effective in flow, for he varies his lines and lengths well. He has been in heavy demand in every auction since his breakthrough season with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and the trend should continue.

Mohammed Shami might be known for his new-ball bowling but is skilled enough to operate effectively in other phases. He knows how to bowl into the deck and has shown ample control over his yorkers in the last few years.
He might not be as consistent with his yorkers but is still better than many others and has shown a few slower ones to mix it well. He is a complete package and will be sold at a hefty price.
Mohit Sharma might have gone for plenty last season but made a solid return to IPL with a breakthrough season in 2023. He has different types of slower ones and can bowl shorter-length deliveries at a reasonable pace to construct his overs.
He also has bowling smarts to bowl according to the field set and remains unpredictable, making him a quality option. He also has previous experience, so he knows what to do at a particular time.
Akash Madhwal’s main skill is generating seam movement off the deck. However, he has shown enough quality to bowl in the middle and death overs as well in the chances he has got.
He can bowl heavy balls and mostly targets stumps, making him a threatening option for death overs. Further, he will be a long-term investment for any side.
Arshdeep Singh is another all-phase bowler with massive value in the powerplay and death overs. He can swing the new ball and has encouraging credentials in death overs.
He has mostly relied on yorkers, making him slightly vulnerable, but his control % is still higher than most bowlers. Hence, he will be in demand during the auction, given he is a proven performer.
