For the unversed, the flying kiss was made popular by Harshit Rana during IPL 2024.
India debutant Harshit Rana was on the receiving end of a flying kiss from Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne during Day 1 of the first Border Gavaskar Trophy match at Perth.
The incident happened on the eighth over of the Australian innings when Labuschagne was hit in the box by a Harshit Rana delivery and the Indian pacer gave him a cold stare. Labuschagne tried to brush off the hit and reacted with flying kisses.
For the unversed, the flying kiss celebration was made popular by Harshit Rana after getting a wicket, as seen earlier in the year during the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) season. The Delhi cricketer was even banned for one game due to this controversial act.

The opening day of the series opener has already witnessed a lot of action with a total of 17 wickets falling down.
Coming in to bat first, the Indian team could only manage to put up 150 runs on the board as the Aussie pacers dominated most of the proceedings. Nitish Kumar Reddy (41), Rishabh Pant (37) & KL Rahul (26) were the only solid efforts in an otherwise poor batting display from the visiting team.
With a trivial score to defend in the first innings, India’s stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah came out looking motivated. He single-handedly led the Indian fightback, finishing Day 1 of the Perth Test with a 4-wicket haul and sent Australia on the back foot.
Mohammed Siraj and Harshit Rana took two and one scalp each as Australia struggled with the scoreboard reading 67 for 7 at the end of Day 1’s play, trailing by 83 runs.
