Let’s see how CSK might arrange their strongest playing XI for the upcoming IPL 2025 season.
The five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) winners made some smart buys in the IPL 2025 auction as they set their sights on a record sixth title.
After retaining their star icons like MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Matheesha Pathirana, CSK further bolstered their squad by adding twelve more players in the auction.
The Chennai outfit splurged INR 9.75 crores from their purse to bring back Ravichandran Ashwin and reunited the Ash-Jaddu pair once again. Their biggest signing however was Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad at INR 10 crores. They completed their full squad of 25 players and have most bases covered.
MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, Matheesha Pathirana, Devon Conway, Rahul Tripathi, Rachin Ravindra, Ravichandran Ashwin, Khaleel Ahmed, North Ahmad, Vijay Shankar, Sam Curran, Anshul Kamboj, Shaik Rasheed, Mukesh Choudhary, Deepak Hooda, Gurjapneet Singh, Nathan Ellis, Jamie Overton, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Ramakrishna Ghosh, Shreyas Gopal, Vansh Bedi, Andre Siddharth
Based on the squad assembled above, let’s see how CSK might arrange their strongest playing XI for the upcoming IPL 2025 season.

Retaining Dhoni as an uncapped player proved to be a budget advantage, yet his role as a finisher may be physically demanding given his age. CSK haven’t made any particular addition as a finisher and while Dhoni’s performance will be clinical, CSK will need to be mindful that over-reliance on Dhoni for match-winning finishes could strain the team, especially as newer players acclimatise.
