Rajasthan Royals fielding coach and former Cricketer Dishant Yagnik has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a statement released by the franchise.
According to the franchise, the test was taken to ensure safety of the team members who will be assembling at the airport in Mumbai next week for their flight to the United Arab Emirates.
A further test for all the players, support staff and management travelling to the United Arab Emirates was implemented by the franchise, in addition to the two mandatory tests recommended by the BCCI.
Dishant Yagnik played for the Rajasthan Royals
The statement read that Yagnik, who kept wicket for Rajasthan in 50 first class Cricket matches, is currently situated at Udaipur, his hometown and has been advised to admit himself to a hospital at the earliest for a 14-day quarantine period. After the end of the quarantine period, Yagnik would require undergoing the two mandatory tests by the BCCI. He will be allowed to join the team only after:
Rajasthan Royals confirmed that no other member of the franchise or any other franchise have been in close proximity of Yagnik, also requesting everyone who have been in close proximity of Yagnik in the past few days to get themselves tested.
