There is no limitation to this England side, feels Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler has heaped praise on the English cricket team’s mind boggling approach, calling the competition within the side healthy for English cricket.
England clean-swept the T20I series against South Africa with a clean all-round performance, that spoke about the brilliance of the side. Jos Buttler and Dawid Malan were the wrecker in chief in the third game, which veered towards ludicrous, in terms of England’s fresh approach towards the shortest version of the game.
Jos Buttler shared a remarkable 167 run partnership from just 90 deliveries with Malan that ended up being the second biggest partnership in the relatively short history of T20 cricket. Naturally he is elated by his own performance but spoke of the importance of England doing well as a team that also propelled them to the Numero Uno status in T20 cricket.

“It’s fantastic for us to achieve that status. Going into the 50-over World Cup, there was a lot of research done that the teams that win it generally come from the top one or two in the world. That is obviously an aim for us to achieve that in the rankings.
Buttler, aided by Moeen Ali, took England out of a slightly tense position and helped them win the game with 7 balls to spare
“That is a result of us playing good cricket. It is exciting for us to know we are playing well and for us to become the number one. But also to become even better. There is no limitation for this side. There is a thirst for continuous improvement and a healthy competition in the team. We have an abundance of fantastic players.”
Buttler praises the combined team effort
This series saw many English players putting their hands up at the most opportune of the side and carried the ring job pretty well. Malan has carried his breath-taking T20 form to the series, scoring an effortless 99 while Jofra Archer was excellent throughout. Buttler is stoked by that performance.
“We have got a fantastic squad of 15 guys. Winning is always really the priority. Having everyone here and available in these conditions, wanting to nail down our strongest team for these exact conditions, I thought that was a great way to go for us. I think it is really important to get time together as a side. A lot of us have played a lot of T20 cricket but to play as an eleven for England a year out from the World Cup will stand us in good stead.”
