The slower bowlers could benefit if the ball stops on the drop-in pitch laid out. Leg-spinners could be handy here while the afternoon sun could help the team batting first.

Losing seven games on the trot, Australia are enduring their worst ever ODI streak. As action shifts to Adelaide, where the hosts have a considerably good ODI record, the onus is on them to level the series against the Proteas who are themselves handicapped by a few injuries in this series.

Venue: Adelaide Oval

Weather Conditions: Overcast in the afternoon with winds expected.

Pitch Conditions: A drop-in pitch should once again help the bowlers. Ball could stop on the batsman making committed shots on the front foot risky.

2) Predicted XI

Australia : Travis Head, Aaron Finch (c), Chris Lynn, Ben McDermott, Alex Carey (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Josh Hazlewood

South Africa : Quinton de Kock (wk), Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram, Faf du Plessis ( c) Heinrich Klaasen (wk), David Miller, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dale Steyn, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Imran Tahir

3) Recommended Player Types

The last game at the venue was a low-scoring thriller between England and Australia with the seamers finding the right length. The slower bowlers could benefit if the ball stops on the drop-in pitch laid out. Leg-spinners could be handy here while the afternoon sun could help the team batting first.

4) Recommended Players in order (most preferred to least):

Batsman: Aaron Finch, Faf du Plessis, Travis Head, Reeza Hendricks, Chris Lynn, Aiden Markram

Wicket-Keeper: Quinton de Kock

All-Rounders: Marcus Stoinis, Andile Phehlukwayo (pick both!), Glenn Maxwell

Fast Bowlers: Kagiso Rabada, Mitchell Starc, Dale Steyn, Pat Cummins, Lungi Ngidi

Spinners: Imran Tahir, Adam Zampa

5) Captain & Vice-Captain choices

Back the big batsman and newly anointed skipper, Aaron Finch. He is an ODI beast and should enjoy the true bounce at Adelaide. Another one to benefit from the surface could be Quinton de Kock who was in fine touch at Perth.
