Dotball Fantasy Tips: Mumbai v Kolkata – Last chance saloon for Kolkata
Can Andre Russell ever have a bad day at the office? Should you make Hardik Pandya your captain? Or should it be a bowler? All your fantasy queries answered.
Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
The pitch has been a belter to bat on all season but should be quick enough to encourage the fast bowlers.
Kolkata will still have their destiny in their hands in the final game because they can win well and qualify on a better net run rate. Standing in their way are Mumbai whom they have already beaten once this season. That game was crucial to Kolkata’s bounce back from losing six straight and they did in style putting up a mammoth 232 on the board. In this final game of the regular season, they may want to bat second for net run rate reasons (they will know exactly what they have to do to ensure better NRR) but they might not mind either way given the form their batsmen like Shubhman Gill and Andre Russell are in. Kolkata have the firepower to take the fight to an already qualified Mumbai but the home side also will be eyeing a win to finish among the top 2. It is Mumbai’s bowling that will hold the key again and if Bumrah and Malinga come up with the goods again as they have all season, it might be curtains for Kolkata.
Fantasy Tips and Pointers
Shubhman Gill is obviously the form player - he has been incredible since he was promoted to the opening slot and of course Andre Russell has become a fantasy must pick no matter what the rest of the squad composition. But the secondary bowlers might hold the key in this game so you may want to look at the likes of Harry Gurney and Sandeep Warrier for Kolkata who might find the Wankhede conditions to their liking. For Mumbai, look out if they select Barinder Sran. He does not have the greatest economy or strike rate and is a bowler that you can probably avoid picking without too much of an opportunity loss.
Likely Playing XIs
Wicket-Keeper: Dinesh Karthik
Batsmen: Chris Lynn, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana
All-Rounders: Sunil Narine, Andre Russell
Bowlers: Rinku Singh, Piyush Chawla, Harry Gurney, Sandeep Warrier, Prasidh Krishna
How it might play out – Match Prediction
This is likely to be a bit of humdinger with all the different equations involved but Mumbai might just edge it because of the current purple patch Hardik Pandya is in and a good knock from the skipper.
Dotball Prediction XIs:
Preferred team for Dotball Head to Head / Small Contests:
Vice-Captain: Andre Russell can almost do no wrong. He has been walking in to bat with supreme confidence and backed that up with the timing.
