The 12th ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 match will be played between India women and Sri Lanka women. The venue for this game will be the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai and the match will be played on 9th October 2024, at 7:30 PM IST.
India is in the 4th position in Group A even after winning the last game against Pakistan and at the moment it looks unlikely that they’ll qualify for the semi-finals. Their batters have failed to bat at a high strike rate and consistency is also an issue. The bowlers have been in decent form though. India must win all the remaining games to keep their semi-final hopes alive and they’ll be on their toes in this game.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, has lost both the games they’ve played till now. They lost their first game against Pakistan women by 31 runs and then Australia women defeated them by six wickets in their last game. Their batters have looked in all sorts of trouble and it’s the main reason for their poor performance. They are over-dependent on Chamari Atapattu with the bat and she has failed to get going.
India Women: Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Richa Ghosh (wk), Deepti Sharma, Arundhati Reddy, Sajeevan Sajana, Shreyanka Patil, Renuka Singh Thakur, Sobhana Asha

Run scoring has been difficult in this tournament but as it’s a night game so expect the conditions to be a bit better than batting compared to the day games. There will be movement on offer for the pacers with the new ball and spinners will get some assistance as well.
The ball will come onto the bat nicely and the batters will be in for a big score once they are set. Teams are expected to prefer chasing. Expect scores in the range of 120-140.
It will be a clear day with no chance of rain. The temperature will hover around 33-34 degrees Celsius and humidity will be around 60% during the game.

The Indian women’s side has been in no way close to their best as a team but they’ll still be the favourites to win this game. Sri Lanka’s batting has been really bad in the first two games and it’s a big concern for them. They have good bowlers but overall, India is the stronger side in this match.
