Pakistan Women will be against Sri Lanka Women in the 2nd match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. The match will be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah on 3rd October 2024. The match will start at 7:30 PM IST.
Pakistan women recently lost a T20I series against South Africa women at their own backyard and they also lost both the warm-up games. Their batters and bowlers have failed to perform as a team and it’s a big reason for their poor performance. Their bowlers have failed to pick up wickets consistently and they’ll have to fix that if they are to do well in this World Cup.
Sri Lanka women, meanwhile, lost a T20I series against Ireland in Ireland last month. However, they did well in the warm-up matches where they defeated Bangladesh women and Scotland women. They have a good squad and will look to start their campaign with a win in this match.
Pakistan Women: Gull Feroza, Muneeba Ali (wk), Sidra Amin, Nida Dar, Omaima Sohail, Fatima Sana, Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, Tuba Hassan, Saida Iqbal, Nashra Sandhu
Sri Lanka Women: Vishmi Gunaratne, Chamari Atapattu (c), Kavish Dilhari, Harshitha Madavi, Nilakshi de Silva, Hasini Perera, Anushka Sanjeewani (wk), Ama Kanchana, Priyadharshani Prabodhani, Inoka Ranaweera, Udeshika Prabodhani
The pitch at Sharjah is generally on the slower side with the ball keeping low and spinners and slow bowlers dominating the game. All-rounders and spinners will be important in your fantasy teams. Teams may prefer chasing but batting first will be a good option as well.
The temperature will be around 33-34 degrees celsius and humidity will be around 65% with no chances of rain.
Fatima Sana (PK-W)
Sadia Iqbal (PK-W)
Harshitha Madavi Samarawickrama (SL-W)
Chamari Atapattu (SL-W)
Nida Dar (PK-W)
Kavisha Dilhari (SL-W)
Kavisha Dilhari will bat in the middle order for Sri Lanka and she’s a wicket-taker with the ball. She has been in excellent form lately and will be a top C/VC option.
Aliya Riaz (PK-W)
Pakistan’s batters looked terribly out of form in the two warm-up games. They also lost a series against South Africa and their bowlers’ current form is not that great. Sri Lanka women, meanwhile, have been in decent form as a team and they have good bowlers and their top order has been in good form. Sri Lanka women should win this match.
