Pakistan and Sri Lanka face off in the third and final T20-I at the Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday. The home side has already conceded the series and will be playing for pride. However, a second string Sri Lanka side has other ideas. With the series already done and dusted, Dasun Shanaka and co would love to clinch a 3-0 win and announce themselves as a force to reckon with. The home is wounded and has won only one T20-I this year and would love to make amends in the final game of this tour in Lahore.

Pitch Report

The pitch does support strokeplay with the Sri Lankans taking full toll while batting first in both the previous games. BattIng first would be ideal scenario here with the pitch slowing down as the game progresses. 165 should be par here at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Weather Report

There isn’t a chance for rain to interrupt this game although there might be some swing on offer with cloudy conditions expected. Dew might play a factor as spinners should find it a touch difficult to grip the ball.

Injuries: No injuries have been reported for this game

Predicted XI

Pakistan:

Pakistan should make a couple of changes given the result of the series is already decided. Mohd Amir and Umar Akmal should make way for Usman Khan Shinwari and Haris Sohail, who were brilliant in the ODI format. Ahmed Shahzad hasn’t been in the best of forms himself but should get another go considering the fact he wasn’t batting at his usual position. A lot depends on Wahab Riaz and Shadab Khan with the Pakistanis struggling with the ball.
Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Ahmed Shahzad, Haris Sohail, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Asif Ali, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Wahab Riaz, Mohd Hasnain and Usman Khan Shinwari.

Sri Lanka:

As for the Sri Lankans, they might be tempted to make a few changes although a whitewash would firmly be in their minds. Danushka Gunathilaka and Bhanuka Rajapaksa have been sensational for the tourists with the bowling unit delivering the goods on either occasion. Nuwan Pradeep has been the star of the show and is certainly one to watch out for. Angelo Perera and Lahiru Kumara could come in for Kasun Rajitha and Lakshan Sandakan while the rest of the side remains the same.
Avishka Fernando, Danushka Gunathilaka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Minod Bhanuka, Shehan Jayasuriya, Dasun Shanaka, Isuru Udana, Angelo Perera, Wanidu Hasaranga, Nuwan Pradeep and Lahiru Kumara

Top Picks:

Babar Azam is due for a big one in this series and should be backed to lead Pakistan to a consolation win. Along with the number one ranked batsmen in the format, Avishka Fernando and Bhanuka Rajapaksa are also good options. Rajapaksa, who scored a brilliant fifty in the second T20-I, should be able to tackle the spin threat Pakistan possesses on Wednesday as well. Nuwan Pradeep should back his four fer with another good performance while the likes of Imad Wasim and Dasun Shanaka should also do their bit with bat and ball.

Captaincy Picks:

1. Babar Azam
2. Shadab Khan
3. Dimuth Karunaratne
