Hazratullah Zazai and Rahmanullah Gurbaz will open the batting for the Afghans with Ibrahim Zadran being the front-runner for the number spot. The experience of Mohd Nabi, Ashgar Afghan and Najibullah Zadran is bound to come in handy although it is the performances of the spin twins, Mujeeb ur Rahman and Rashid Khan that could have an adverse effect on the outcome. Two pacers in Sayed Shirzad and Naveen ul Haq should feature with Gulbadin Naib playing as the third pacer.

Kieron Pollard will take up the number four slot with a lot of expectations on Shimron Hetmyer, who hasn’t been in the best of forms. Fabian Allen should get the nod ahead of Khary Pierre as the second spinner while Sheldon Cottrell is certainly one to watch out for in Lucknow.
