Round 15 of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019-20 sees Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh pitted against each other on Wednesday. Both teams haven’t done too well with 10 points each. While Madhya Pradesh’s inexperienced side did impress in bits and pieces, Rajasthan will be disappointed with their campaign in spite of having a formidable bowling unit in their ranks. They will fancy their chances of a win at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium against a Madhya Pradesh, which is heavily dependant on Rajat Patidar and Naman Ojha at the top of the order.

Weather Report:

The weather is all clear for this game with clear skies on the forecast. There should be some swing on offer due to the cloudy conditions at the ground on Wednesday with the temperatures bound to be in the 30s

Pitch Report:

A high-scoring game is expected on Saturday with the average first innings score here this year being 253. Pacers should have a major say with the spinners also coming into the play once the ball gets old. Chasing will be key on this surface on Wednesday.

Predicted Playing XI:

Rajasthan:

Rajasthan will not tinker with their side, especially after a win against Bihar. Their openers, Chetan Bist and Yash Kothari have done well although Mahipal Lomror is due for a big knock in the tournament. Their fortunes depend on their bowling department with the Chahar cousins doing well with the ball in hand. Abhimanyu Lamba is another one to watch out for with nine wickets in five games so far this season. Their batting depth also bodes well as they enter the game as the favourites against Madhya Pradesh.

Yash Kothari,  Chetan Bist (WK),  Mahipal Lomror (C),  Arjit Gupta,  Aditya Garhwal,  Rajesh Bishnoi,  Deepak Chahar,  Rahul Chahar,  Abhimanyu Lamba,  SK Sharma  and  Aniket Choudhary

Madhya Pradesh:

Madhya Pradesh shouldn’t be many changes in spite of a huge loss to Tamil Nadu in their previous outing. Their fortunes depend on their opening pair of Rajat Patidar and Naman Ojha with their inexperienced middle order taken into consideration. They have a couple of talented bowlers as well with Ishwar Pandey being a consistent performer in the domestic circuit for MP over the years. Gaurav Yadav has been their best bowler in the last two games and will be key with the new ball.
Rajat Patidar,  Naman Ojha (C&WK),  Venkatesh Iyer,  Yash Dubey,  Anand Bais,  Rishabh Chouhan,  Mihir Hirwani,  Kumar Kartikeya,  Ishwar Pandey,  Gaurav Yadav  and  Avesh Khan

Top Picks:

Mahipal Lomror is one of the most consistent performers in the Rajasthan side with the Rajasthan Royals player batting in the top order. Given the nature of the pitch, he should score some runs along with Rajat Patidar and Arjit Gupta. While Anand Bais and Aditya Garhwal round off the batting department, Naman Ojha’s experience should also hold him in good stead. Deepak Chahar and Rahul Chahar starred in the previous game. While Deepak Chahar scored a fifty against Bihar, Rahul Chahar picked four wickets to lead Rajasthan to a win. Gaurav Yadav is MP’s best bowler this year and should pick a wicket or two.
