Robin Uthappa has been named as the captain of the side and comes with a bit of international experience under the belt.
The Hong Kong Sixes tournament is back after seven years, with as many as 12 teams participating in the competition. Each team will face five overs, with everyone barring the wicketkeeper needing to bowl one over each.
Each side has seven players in the squad, with six featuring in the game. The squads have started to come, with several teams announcing their players.
Among them is the Indian team which has also announced their squad for the series. The squad is a solid one, with a few well-known names.
Robin Uthappa has been named as the captain of the side and comes with a bit of international experience under the belt. Overall, he has featured in 59 matches for India, scoring 1183 runs at an average of 25.71, including seven fifties and the best of 86.
He has vast experience in T20 cricket, which could have led to him being named as captain, having played in as many as 291 games and scored 7272 runs at an average of 28.18 and a strike rate of 133.08, with the help of 42 fifties. Recently, he was part of the World Champions of Legends, where his team won the final in Birmingham.

Kedhar Jadhav is another big name with ample experience, for he has played in 58 matches for India across ODIs and T20Is and scored 1511 runs at an average of 38.74, including seven fifties and two centuries. His last outing for the Men in Blue came in 2020 when he played in an ODI game against New Zealand in Auckland.
His T20 exposure is also vast; Jadhav has played 163 T20 games and scored 2592 runs at an average of 24.45 and a strike rate of 129.53, with the help of 14 fifties. He also has a golden arm and a knack for picking wickets, as visible numerous times during his international playing days where he took 27 wickets.
A domestic giant, Manoj Tiwary was really unlucky to play only 15 matches for India in ODIs and T20Is, where he scored 302 runs at an average of 25.16, including one fifty and a century. He has also taken five wickets for India, and his bowling will also be used in the Hong Sixes Tournament.
Further, he has also played in 183 T20 matches and accumulated 3436 runs at an average of 28.39 and a strike rate of 116.43, comprising 15 fifties. He recently retired from First Class cricket, bringing curtains on an illustrious career, where he scored more than 10000 runs at an average of more than 47 in 148 red-ball matches.

Shreevats Goswami, a wicketkeeper batter, never played for India despite showing massive promise early in his career. However, he has ample experience featuring in domestic cricket, for he has played more than 250 matches for his domestic side.
In T20s, he has scored 2437 runs at an average of 26.78 and a strike rate of 115.55, with the help of 13 fifties and the best of 86*. He has been playing in local tournaments like Legends League Cricket, which should help him remain in the match groove and step up in the competition where he will have to hit from the first ball.
Maybe new viewers have not heard his name, but Bharat Chipli has played a bit of all formats for his domestic side and in the IPL, even if he never pressed a claim to be in the Indian side. Overall, he has played in 30 T20 matches and scored 453 runs at an average of 21.57 and a strike rate of 117.35, including two fifties.
In the IPL, he has featured for three teams – Deccan Chargers, Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils), and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) – and has played 23 matches across four seasons. He has also been playing series like Legends League Cricket, which led to his selection in the six-hitting fun.
At his peak, Stuart Binny was among the most exciting all-rounders and has played all formats for India, featuring in 23 matches across three formats. He has scored 459 runs at an average of 24.15 and taken 24 wickets at 31.29 runs apiece.
Overall, he has played 150 T20 matches and scored 1641 runs at an average of 20.01 and a strike rate of 126.13 while taking 73 wickets at an average of 25.87. He can hit the ball long and bowl useful medium-pace, and like most other players in this list, has been active playing the Legends League Cricket.
Another domestic giant, Shahbaz Nadeem has played two Tests for India, where he took 8 wickets at 34.12 runs apiece. However, his domestic record is marvellous, for he has taken 542 First Class wickets at a 28.86 average in 140 matches while 175 wickets at an average of 28.88 in 134 List A games.
His T20 experience is also vast, having played 150 games and taken 125 wickets at 28.43 runs apiece, including a four-wicket haul. He was active playing First Class cricket till the last season and will hope to bring his magic to the Hong Kong Sixes as well where batters will rule the roost.
