3 Teams That Will Target Harry Brook at IPL 2025 Auction

Due to his superior skillsets, Harry Brook will be in heavy demand again during the IPL 2025 auction.

Harry Brook is among the finest young talents going around in world cricket. He is among those rare overseas batters who are equally adept against pace and spin and have world-class potential.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) paid a hefty price of INR 13.25 crores in the IPL 2023 auction, but Brook couldn’t perform according to the expectations and was released subsequently. Then, Delhi Capitals (DC) got him for INR 4 crores in the IPL 2025 auction, but he didn’t come to play for personal reasons and was again released.

Due to his superior skillsets, he will be in heavy demand again during the IPL 2025 auction. We note down three teams that might go hard after him.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have released Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana, their spin-hitters in the middle overs. They will require a solid specialist who can complement pace-hitters around, and Harry Brook is an ideal player to do that.

Apart from handling spin well, Brook has all the shots against pace and can bat at different gears. He will thrive on flat Kolkata decks and will be a long-term investment for the franchise.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals (DC) might have let Harry Brook go, but there’s a massive possibility they will re-bid for him or use RTM. They already have Tristan Stubbs in the middle and require another all-round player, and there are few better than Brook in that category.

The pitches in Delhi have been flat, and Brook will enjoy playing here since he is a shot-maker who likes playing on the up. He will fit perfectly at No.4 or 5, followed by Stubbs, making DC a fearsome batting unit.

Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals (RR) have released Jos Buttler, so Sanju Samson might start opening again. That will leave a vacancy at No.3, and given Riyan Parag’s boundary gears are stronger vs pace, RR would want a prolific spin player.

Brook ticks that slot while also providing flexibility to shuffle his batting positions in order to fit perfectly in the setup. His inclusion will leave RR with too many batters who can bat at different batting spots according to the need, given they already have Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer for these roles.
