Another Afghanistan spin sensation in the radar of teams for IPL 2025 auction

Earlier in September, Kharote impressed in the second ODI against South Africa at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, where his four-wicket haul helped Afghanistan win by 177 runs.

In the second ODI between Afghanistan and Bangladesh at Sharjah, Nangeyalia Kharote took 3 wickets, getting rid of Shanto, Hridoy, and Mahmudullah.

Even though Afghanistan lost the match by 68 runs, Kharote’s excellent spin bowling stood out as a positive for the team.

Afghanistan are known for producing talented spinners, and Kharote looks like he will continue this tradition. As a left-arm orthodox bowler, he is known for being accurate and economical.

The 20-year-old has played 6 ODIs and 6 T20Is for Afghanistan, taking 11 wickets in ODIs and 5 in T20Is. His economy rate is quite impressive, with 3.64 in ODIs and 6.50 in T20Is, showing his ability to control the game.

With the IPL mega auction coming up, performances like this are sure to attract the attention of many franchises. Afghanistan have a strong tradition of producing world-class spinners, with players like Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb ur Rahman, and Noor Ahmad gaining significant exposure in the IPL.

Kharote could be the next big talent to catch the eye of IPL teams. Though Kharote is still relatively unknown in the cricket world, his lack of familiarity could give him an edge over the competition, as franchises may see him as a fresh and exciting prospect.

Three teams that might target Nangeyalia Kharote in the IPL auction 2025

After releasing spinners like Washington Sundar, Sunrisers Hyderabad could target Kharote. He could fill their need for a mystery spinner and complement their aggressive batting lineup.

For Gujarat Titans, with Rashid Khan already in the team, Kharote could form a strong spin partnership. Having released Noor Ahmad, Kharote could be a great, cost-effective replacement.

With only Bishnoi retained as a spinner, Lucknow Super Giants could target Kharote to strengthen their spin department. Given the slow pitch at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Kharote’s bowling style could thrive there.
