Also with the confirmed availability of their former skipper and icon MS Dhoni for another edition, it will give a major morale boost in their efforts to lift the coveted trophy again.

Ahead of the auction, the CSK management decided to retain five stars for a total spend of INR 65 crores and went into the auction with INR 55 crores.

IPL 2025 Auction – Day 1
Their first move at Jeddah was to bring back the Kiwi batters from last season – Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra (RTM).
The CSK management also managed to reunite their spin all-rounder duo of Jadeja and Ashwin after buying the latter. The addition of Aghanistan spin sensation Noor Ahmad seemed to be a masterstroke alongside Ash-Jaddu, given the turning tracks of Chepauk.
In the pace bowling department, CSK added Khaleel Ahmed to pair with their Sri Lankan retention Matheesha Pathirana.
IPL 2025 Auction – Day 2
CSK started the second day with the purchase of English all-rounder Sam Curran and added two more overseas stars in Nathan Ellis and Jamie Overton. They also added quite a few domestic India stars in Anshul Kamboj, Mukesh Choudhary, Deepak Hooda amongst others.
The IPL heavyweights also continued with their trend of cultivating talents by signing uncapped cricketers like Ramakrishna Ghosh, Andre Siddharth, Vansh Bedi
