Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) retained five players ahead of the IPL 2025 auction and were clear with what they wanted during the auction. They targeted specific players and got almost everyone they wanted, covering most bases during the auction.
Their biggest pick was Ishan Kishan, whom they got for a whopping INR 11.25 crores, followed by Mohammed Shami, whom they bought for INR 10 crores. There were also a few random picks, but they are quality players and will come into play at some stage during the tournament.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have two quality wrist spinners – Rahul Chahar and Adam Zampa. But the question is whether they should play both in the XI or get another specialist seamer, Simarjeet Singh.
Ideally, they would have liked a quality finger spinner who can bowl defensive lines and lengths, but since they don’t have one in the squad, they might be tempted to go in with two wrist spinners. Playing one of Head or Abhishek as a second spinner can backfire.
Further, SRH also have Nitish Kumar Reddy as another pace-bowling option, so they don’t need another specialist speedster. Even Chahar’s recent returns in the league haven’t been encouraging, but SRH will still be tempted to start with him.
