Sunrisers Hyderabad Playing XI, IPL 2025: Best SRH Playing 11, Players List, and Full Squad

Based on the squad assembled in IPL 2025 auction, we see how SRH might arrange their strongest playing XI for the upcoming IPL 2025 season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) retained five players ahead of the IPL 2025 auction and were clear with what they wanted during the auction. They targeted specific players and got almost everyone they wanted, covering most bases during the auction.

Their biggest pick was Ishan Kishan, whom they got for a whopping INR 11.25 crores, followed by Mohammed Shami, whom they bought for INR 10 crores. There were also a few random picks, but they are quality players and will come into play at some stage during the tournament.

SRH Squad and Players List for IPL 2025:

Pat Cummins, Heinrich Klaasen, Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mohammed Shami, Harshal Patel, Ishan Kishan, Rahul Chahar, Adam Zampa, Atharva Taide, Abhinav Manohar, Simarjeet Singh, Jaydev Unadkat, Zeeshan Ansari, Brydon Carse, Kamindu Mendis, Aniket Verma, Eshan Malinga, Sachin Baby

Based on the squad assembled above, let’s see how SRH might arrange their strongest playing XI for the upcoming IPL 2025 season.

Strongest SRH Playing XI for IPL 2025:

  • Travis Head
  • Abhishek Sharma
  • Ishan Kishan
  • Nitish Kumar Reddy
  • Heinrich Klaasen
  • Abhinav Manohar
  • Pat Cummins
  • Harshal Patel
  • Rahul Chahar
  • Mohammed Shami
  • Adam Zampa

Strongest Points:

  • SRH have one of the most explosive batting lineups in the competition.
  • There are pace-hitters at the top and spin-hitters in the middle.
  • There is depth in the batting unit.
  • SRH have pacers for each phase, including death overs.
  • They have one of the best wrist spinners in white-ball cricket, Adam Zampa.

Weakest Points:

  • Ishan Kishan and Nitish Kumar Reddy can be restricted by high pace and hard lengths.
  • While SRH have Head and Abhishek, they would have liked a quality finger spinner in the XI.
  • Mohammed Shami is injury-prone, and if he gets injured, SRH’s powerplay bowling will take a massive hit.

Should SRH play two wrist spinners in the XI?

Sunrisers Hyderabad have two quality wrist spinners – Rahul Chahar and Adam Zampa. But the question is whether they should play both in the XI or get another specialist seamer, Simarjeet Singh.

Ideally, they would have liked a quality finger spinner who can bowl defensive lines and lengths, but since they don’t have one in the squad, they might be tempted to go in with two wrist spinners. Playing one of Head or Abhishek as a second spinner can backfire.

Further, SRH also have Nitish Kumar Reddy as another pace-bowling option, so they don’t need another specialist speedster. Even Chahar’s recent returns in the league haven’t been encouraging, but SRH will still be tempted to start with him.
