Gujarat Titans have blended youth and experience to bolster their batting and overall squad depth.
Earlier, Gujarat Titans retained a strong mix, investing in young but talented players like captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, along with international star Rashid Khan. They’ve also focused on strengthening the middle and lower-order batting by retaining uncapped players Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia.
GT spent INR 51 crore of their INR 120 crore budget on retentions, leaving them with INR 69 crore to bolster their squad in the auction. With only one Right to Match (RTM) card, their strategy is to focus on selecting players who complement the retained squad and aim for a much stronger season than the previous one.
Gujarat Titans began their IPL 2025 auction by acquiring Kagiso Rabada for INR 10.75 crore, followed by Jos Buttler for INR 15.75 crore. They also secured Mohammed Siraj for INR 12.25 crore and Prasidh Krishna for INR 9.5 crore. Additionally, they signed uncapped players Mahipal Lomror, Nishant Singh Sandhu, and Anuj Rawat.
On Day 2, Gujarat added Washington Sundar for INR 3.2 crore and Gerald Coetzee for INR 2.40 crore. They also made a notable acquisition by signing Sherfane Rutherford for INR 2.6 crore, while re-signing Sai Kishore and adding Ishant Sharma to their squad.
