Following the retention of their five core players, where GT secured main players like Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, Sai Sudharsan, Shahrukh Khan, and Rahul Tewatia, Gujarat Titans made further smart signings at the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah on November 24 and 25.

By the end of Day 1 and the ongoing Day 2 of the auction, Gujarat Titans had secured a total of 22 players. The top purchases included Jos Buttler for INR 15.75 crore, Mohammed Siraj for INR 12.25 crore, Kagiso Rabada for INR 10.7 crore, and Prasidh Krishna for INR 9.50 crore. Based on the current squad, let’s take a look at how Gujarat Titans might lineup their strongest playing XI for IPL 2025.

Strongest GT Playing XI for IPL 2025:

  • Shubman Gill (C)
  • Jos Buttler (wk)
  • Sai Sudharsan
  • Sherfane Rutherford
  • Shahrukh Khan
  • Rahul Tewatia
  • Washington Sundar
  • Rashid Khan
  • Kagiso Rabada
  • Prasidh Krishna
  • Mohammed Siraj

Bench: Gerald Coetzee, Anuj Rawat, Arshad Khan, Mahipal Lomror, Sai Kishore, Ishant Sharma, Gurnoor Brar, Glenn Phillips, Jayant Yadav, Manav Suthar, Kumar Kushagra, Ishant Sharma, Nishant Sindhu,

Strongest Points:

  • Gujarat Titans have excellent powerplay bowlers in Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj.
  • Their spin department is strengthened by all-rounders Rashid Khan and Washington Sundar.
  • Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler is a solid opening pair.
  • Their top eight batters feature a balanced mix of four right-handed and four left-handed players, adding variety to the lineup.

Weakest Points:

Gujarat Titans have good backups in their bowling department but lack sufficient depth in their domestic batting lineup.

What Overseas Combination will Gujarat Titans go with?

3 overseas players – Jos Buttler, Kagiso Rabada, and Rashid Khan – look all set to start for the Titans. Only the fourth overseas slot is up for grabs and it depends on what combination Gujarat want to go with. They can get in Gerald Coetzee to form an overseas pace bowling pair with Rabada. But they will need to slot inexperienced player like Mahipal Lomror at No.4 then. So, it will be better for them to go with an experienced player like Sherfane Rutherford or Glenn Phillips in their middle order and pick an Indian pacer like Prasidh Krishna instead. This way, their middle order won’t look thin on experience.
