IPL 2022: Strongest Rajasthan Royals Playing XI – Full Player List, Squad And Captain After Auction

The Rajasthan Royals (RR) won the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) way back in 2008. Shane Warne, who was at the fag end of his career back then, led the team with a lot of authority and made them the champions against the odds.

But since then, the team has strained to find its feet. Ajinkya Rahane, Steve Smith and Sanju Samson have captained them, but without much success. Leave along winning the title, the Royals have struggled to even qualify for the playoffs in the last few seasons.

Prior to the mega auction, RR retained their prolific batters, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson. They have also strengthened their bowling, roping in Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Ashwin. Their batting also looks a power-packed one.

Rassie van der Dussen has been in excellent form for South Africa and he’ll look to make his IPL debut season a memorable one. Ravi Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal are expected to be the spin-bowling options and they can pose a lot of threat to the oppositions.

The Royals also have two quality left-arm seamers, Obed McCoy and Trent Boult. McCoy has been a genuine wicket-taker for the West Indies in the shorter format. Boult, on the other hand, is a tried and tested customer in the IPL.
