IPL 2022: Strongest SRH Playing XI – Full Sunrisers Hyderabad Squad, Player List And Captain After Mega Auction
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have done reasonably well in the Indian Premier League (IPL), having qualified for the playoffs quite a few times. Back in 2016, they also won the title under David Warner after beating the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the final.
But in the previous season, they couldn’t get anything right as they ended as the cellar dwellers. Prior to the mega auction, they retained Kane Williamson, Umran Malik and Abdul Samad. Surprisingly, they let go the likes of Jonny Bairstow, David Warner and Rashid Khan.
In the auction, they strengthened their middle order by including the likes of Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran. The team has also roped in quite a few young Indian talents, including the likes of Kartik Tyagi, Rahul Tripathi and Washington Sundar.

Abhishek Sharma and skipper Kane Williamson can open the batting. Both can complement each other and be headaches for opposition bowling units. Aiden Markram had some decent outings for the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and he knows the tricks of the trade.
Nicholas Pooran had a horrendous outing last time and he’ll be looking to make amends. Rahul Tripathi had an impressive season for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Sunrisers will be hoping for the right-hander to fire on all cylinders.
Romario Shepherd and Marco Jansen are pretty handy all-rounders. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kartik Tyagi will have their roles to play as well. It will also be interesting to see how Abdul Samad and Umran Malik, who were retained by the Sunrisers, perform.

Back in the 2021 IPL, the Sunrisers sacked David Warner and appointed Kane Williamson as their skipper. Although Kane failed to take the team through to the playoffs, the Orange Army retained him ahead of the mega auction. The Sunrisers finished at the bottom of the points table last season and Williamson will be looking to turn their fortunes around.
