Meet Luvnith Sisodia: KKR’s Moneyball Pick for IPL 2025 Who Was Part of RCB’s 2022 Squad

KKR have worked with several quality players, turning them into match-winners, and Luvnith Sisodia might be the next in line.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bought Luvnith Sisodia for his base price of INR 30 Lakhs during the IPL 2025 auction. There has been a lot of buzz around him, for he is touted as a special talent from an early age.

He is a wicketkeeper batter with massive potential. Overall, his T20 numbers in his short career aren’t convincing, for he averages a mere 13.77 and a strike rate of 127.83 in nine outings, with the best of 38.

However, he has showcased his superior talent in local T20 leagues, including the Maharaja T20 Trophy. In 11 innings, he accumulated 337 runs at an average of 30.64 and a strike rate of 139.83, including two fifties, this season.

His talent caught everyone’s eye more than these numbers because he showed a natural flair and stroke-making ability. He quickly reads the lengths and can whack pacers from his crease, showing his repertoire’s wide range of shots.

He is mostly a leg-side dominant batter and targets on-side for boundaries but can also access the off-side region. His high backlift naturally allows him to swing his bat towards the leg-side region.

He has a stable base and generates brute power, which helps him hit the ball long. The southpaw hit some huge shots in the Maharaja T20 Trophy.

He is an opener who bats with high intent and always looks for boundary-scoring options, which helps him to maximise the field restrictions. He can take on pacers at will and provide brisk starts to his team.

Luvnith is equally capable with the gloves and has grabbed a few marvellous catches behind the sticks. He is agile and possesses a good wicketkeeping technique, making him a bankable keeper.

He was with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2022, but an injury ruled him out midway through the season. That paved the way for Rajat Patidar, who has been with the side since.

However, Luvnith is equally talented and will reach similar heights if groomed properly. Maybe he won’t start in the first game due to the availability of Quinton de Kock and Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

But he might get a chance at some stage, and he can show his true worth. KKR have worked with several quality players, turning them into match-winners, and Luvnith Sisodia might be the next in line.
