The former Indian bowling coach is set to join the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of the next IPL season. He had a fruitful stint with the Indian side, and several players acknowledged his work with the Men in Blue.
Paras Mhambrey, who acted as India’s bowling coach under Rahul Dravid’s tenure, is back to work, for he will be in the MI’s coaching department as a bowling coach. According to a report by Cricbuzz, Paras will work with Lasith Malinga, who has already been with the five-time champions as a bowling coach since last season.
Before joining the Indian team as a bowling coach, he worked with Mumbai Indians in the league and will return to the helm again. Mahela Jayawardene will accommodate Mhambrey and assign his role before the next season.

Under Mhambrey, the Indian bowlers emerged as a genuine force and performed well at almost every level. The Indian team reached the final of the World Test Championship 2021-23, World Cup 2023 and won the T20 World Cup 2024 during his tenure as bowling coach.
Those under Rahul Dravid’s tenure in various capacities will now be occupied with different teams across the IPL and India sides. Rahul was named as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals (RR) after his successful stint with the Men in Blue, culminating in the T20 World Cup 2024 win.
He has previously played for the Royals while also part of the coaching department before joining the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and becoming the head coach of India. He has included Vikram Rathour, the batting coach of the Indian team under his tenure, in the same capacity at the Royals.
T Dilip, the fielding coach of the Indian team, retained his position under the new era of Gautam Gambhir. Paras Mhambrey, initially supposed to join RR, will also be occupied with MI in a role he nailed with the Indian side.
He has played two Tests and three ODIs for India. Paras brings a wealth of experience with himself, which will benefit Mumbai Indians in the next season.
