The news was confirmed via an official press release on the league website.
In a bid to bolster the squad ahead of the upcoming 2025 season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have signed an explosive English batter. The news was confirmed via an official press release on the league website earlier today.
England’s Danni Wyatt is set to represent RCB in the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL 2025) season following a successful trade from UP Warriorz (UPW).
Initially purchased by UPW at the auction for INR 30 lakhs, Wyatt will now join RCB at the same fee.
With extensive experience, Wyatt strengthens RCB’s roster, having represented England in 164 T20Is —the most by any English player in this format.
RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana also welcomed Wyatt with a heartfelt message.
Mandhana said, “Danielle is a game-changer and a phenomenal athlete. Her skills and competitive spirit align perfectly with our team’s vision. We are excited to welcome her to RCB and look forward to the energy she will bring to the squad”.
Speaking about Danni Wyatt, she was a part of the Three Lions Women squad that competed in the recent Women’s T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where England was unable to advance to the semifinals.
The 33-year-old emerged as her team’s top scorer, amassing 151 runs across four matches with an impressive average of 50.33 and a strike rate of 124.79, her highest score being an unbeaten 51 against Kathryn Bryce’s Scotland.
Following the World Cup, Wyatt traveled to Australia and is currently playing for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) and will be bringing in a lot of experience with her to the RCB squad.
