His performance will definitely see his stocks rise up before he goes under the hammer.
The upcoming India Premier League (IPL 2025) auction, slated to be held later this month on November 24-25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will witness all ten franchises revamp their squad in a bid to bolster their squad for the next season.
Ahead of the mega-auction, a released Mumbai Indians star made headlines with a stunning bowling display in the ongoing Ranji Trophy.
Shams Mulani, who was bought by the five-time champions in the IPL 2023 auction for his base price of INR 20 lakhs, only featured in two matches during IPL 2024.
However, his recent display in the Ranji Trophy where he picked up a stellar 11-wicket haul in a match between Mumbai and Odisha, will definitely see his stocks rise up before he goes under the hammer.
Mulani’s impressive 5/71 earlier today (November 9) enabled Mumbai to claim Odisha’s remaining five wickets within 119 minutes after the start of the Day’s game. This innings victory by 103 runs also earned Mumbai a valuable bonus point, providing a much-needed boost after a rocky start to their season. In the first innings, Mulani also showcased his skill with a six-wicket haul.
In his first-class (FC) career, Shams Mulani now holds 15 five-wicket hauls and seven ten-wicket match hauls. Speaking of his FC stats, he has taken 213 wickets with an average of 24.10.
In the current Ranji season, the 27-year-old has secured 23 wickets from 4 matches for Mumbai at an average of 25.47, including two five-wicket hauls.
