Coach Rob Walter named the squad with T20 World Cup 2026 in mind.
Cricket South Africa (CSA), earlier today, announced a 16-member squad that will host India for a four-match T20I series, starting from November 8.
Notably, a host of Indian Premier League stars will make a return to the Proteas T20I side for the first international series of the home summer.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) duo Heinrich Klaasen and Marco Jansen, Gujarat Titans’ (GT) David Miller, along with Rajasthan Royals (RR) spinner Keshav Maharaj and Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Gerald Coetzee have been named to the squad.
Notably, Coetzee and Jansen will be returning after completing their structured conditioning blocks.

South Africa has rested star bowler Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi for this series, as the team prepares for the upcoming two-Test series against Sri Lanka, set to begin later in November.
All-rounder Mihlali Mpongwana, 24, earned his first call-up after ranking among the top wicket-takers in this season’s CSA T20 Challenge, securing 12 wickets at an impressive average of 14.08.
Commenting on the squad for the SA vs IND T20I series, coach Rob Walter said,
“It’s both an exciting and important series for us as we continue to build towards the T20 World Cup in 2026. The squad has a nice mix of youth and experience, and I am looking forward to seeing us deliver some quality performances against a very attacking Indian T20 outfit.”
The series against India kicks off in Durban on November 8, followed by games in Port Elizabeth on November 10, Pretoria on November 13, and at Johannesburg’s Wanderers Stadium on November 15.
