Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on the Rajasthan Royals in the 5th match of the Indian Premier League 2022.
Sunrisers had a horrible season in 2021. They finished at the bottom of the points table and there were lots of off field things as well surrounding the franchise. David Warner was sacked as the captain mid-way in the season but it didn’t help them either. They have a revamped squad this season which will be led by Kane Williamson. They have the likes of Nicholas Pooran, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Washington Sundar, Romario Shepherd, etc as the new faces alongside the likes of T Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, Abdul Samad, etc. SRH will look to do well in this season and what better way to start off their campaign with a win.
Rajasthan Royals didn’t had a great IPL 2021 either as they finished at the second last position. Royals picked some big names from the auction in Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult, Ravichndran Ashwin, Nathan Coulter Nile, Shimron Hetmyer, and Rassie van der Dussen. Sanju Samson will once again lead the franchise. They are looking good as a team this year and will look to perform well. Rajasthan too will be eyeing a win in their first match to start their campaign in a positive way.
Match: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals, Match 5, Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022
Venue: MCA Stadium, Pune
Date and Time: 29th March 2022, Tuesday, 7:30 PM IST
The pitch at the MCA Stadium is an excellent one for batting. It is a bit two paced in the first innings with the spinners getting some turn in the middle-overs and the new ball moving around quite a bit and it becomes easier for the batters in the second innings with the dew settling in. Bowling is quite difficult with the wet ball. The average first innings score has been 159 runs. Teams will look to chase here as chasing sides have won 20 out of 38 T20 matches played here.
It’s going to be a thriller of a contest between the two sides as both have some big names in their squad. Rajasthan Royals, however, are looking more balanced compared to the Sunrisers Hyderabad and will start as the favorites to win this match.
