Not MS Dhoni’s last IPL season? Stephen Fleming’s shocking revelation

Ever since the start of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), there have been speculations regarding the retirement of MS Dhoni.

Ever since the start of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), there have been speculations regarding the retirement of MS Dhoni. Dhoni, who has been part of the league since its inception, has played over 240 matches in the tournament.

While the 41-year-old retired from international cricket in August 2020, he continued to feature in the cash-rich league. MS has been the face of the competition and helped Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lift the title four times, making CSK the second-best team in the tournament.

However, MS Dhoni seems to be in the last phase of his glorious career. Even the legendary player and captain, MS Dhoni, himself has indicated that IPL 2023 might be his last in the league.

Everywhere MS Dhoni has reached to play a game, the fans have crowded the stands with the yellow jersey. He thanked all of them in the post-match presentations while also giving clues about his future.

Stephen Fleming dismisses the speculations on MS Dhoni

While it has been believed that MS will retire after the season, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming has denied such speculations. After the conclusion of the game against Punjab Kings (PBKS), Fleming confirmed MS had not given any indication about his retirement in the dressing room.

“No, he has not indicated anything as such,” exclaimed Stephen Fleming on being asked about Dhoni’s retirement.

This statement from the CSK’s coach has come as a huge relief for the yellow army fans who worship MS Dhoni more than anyone else. However, there is a high probability that Fleming might have stated these words just to avoid disclosing the exact news of MS Dhoni’s retirement.

MS Dhoni has been in superb form with the willow this season, as he has managed to provide the finishing touches to the team several times. Even in the last game against Punjab Kings, Dhoni hit two maximums on the final two balls to help CSK reach 200 while batting first.

However, MS Dhoni has had trouble while keeping and running between the wickets due to the knee injury. If he manages to heal it properly, Dhoni can easily carry on for another season.
