Which Franchise Has the Best Batting Line-Up After the IPL 2025 Auction?

Most of those batters landed a deal with some team and will look to make an impact in the upcoming edition.

The IPL 2025 auction had some of the finest Indian and overseas batters up for sale, and almost every team filled their slots with a few quality options. Most of those batters landed a deal with some team and will look to make an impact in the upcoming edition.

Among those teams were the Mumbai Indians (MI), who seemed to have covered most bases during the auction. They retained as many as five players ahead of the auction; four of them were either batters or all-rounders: Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Hardik Pandya.

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra feels MI has the best batting lineup in the competition and can score 230-240 in every game. He labelled their batting “explosive” and “entertaining” on his YouTube channel.

“They have the best batting order, and they can be really dominating at home. They can post 230-240 in every match. I want Rohit and Will Jacks to open the batting and then keep Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Hardik Pandya. You would also need Naman Dhir in the middle order. Robin Minz and Mitchell Santner will follow him. Their batting order is dangerous, exciting, explosive, and entertaining.”

Mumbai Indians have most bases covered in the batting department

If we analyse each slot of Mumbai Indians’ batting, Rohit Sharma will open the innings and take on the powerplay overs by targeting pacers. His partner Will Jacks is equally capable and can also hit spinners, making him an ideal opener for Rohit at the top.

Tilak Varma has done wonders at No.3 in the international arena and should continue at this spot due to his superior skillsets vs spin and fuller-length deliveries vs pace. Suryakumar Yadav will grab the No.4 spot and take the game forward at the required pace.

Then, Naman Dhir, a pace-hitter, and Hardik Pandya, another pace-hitter who is decent vs spin, will follow. Robin Minz, an exciting wicketkeeper batter, will also be in the mix.

Overall, this batting unit is a boundary-hitting machine that can pile on big scores at any venue. The decks in IPL are flat, and MI batters will pose a significant threat to the opponent’s bowling.
