Yash Dhull makes his IPL debut against Mumbai Indians

After warming the bench for the whole season last year and three matches this season, Yash Dhull has finally been provided with a chance to showcase his superior skillsets. The veteran Indian pacer, Ishant Sharma, presented him with the DC cap before the start of play earlier. The 20-year-old was the captain of the U-19 World Cup winning team in 2022. Yash impressed one and all in that tournament held in the West Indies.

Yash Dhull amassed 229 runs at a magnificent average of 76.33 and a strike rate of 85.45 in the World Cup. He also made a swashbuckling century in the Semi-Final against Australia U-19 at Antigua. Under his able leadership, India U-19 also managed to clinch the title.

The Delhi-born also made twin centuries on his Ranji Trophy debut against Tamil Nadu last year. Since then, Dhull has piled up runs in First Class cricket. He has made 1145 runs at an average of 49.78, which includes four half-centuries and as many centuries in FC format.

His T20 record is also very impressive. In the 8 T20 innings, Dhull has 363 runs at a sensational 72.60 average and a strike rate of 131.52 with the willow. He has also made three fifties in this format.

Dhull is a young prodigy who is seen as the next big thing in Indian cricket. He has all the required expertise to achieve incredible feats on the cricket field.

Delhi Capitals have also made another change in the XI from the last game. They have benched Rilee Rossouw to accommodate Mustafizur Rahman. Rahman is a like-for-like replacement for Khaleel Ahmed.

Rilee Rossouw played all the first three games for Delhi Capitals this year, where he didn’t look in good nick. The southpaw could assemble only 44 runs at a mediocre batting average of 14.67.
