Dube's last-minute decision to take DRS helped him to stay till the end of the innings

Shivam Dube, who is having a good season for the Chennai Super Kings, was given out LBW in the game against the Gujarat Titans. He himself seemed confident that he is out but somehow managed to take the DRS after discussing it with Ruturaj Gaikwad. This resulted in the Review System showing a clear spike which made the on-field umpire reverse his decision.

As the DRS was on, Dube had started walking off, assuming he was out, only for the replays to show otherwise. He soon returned to remain unbeaten till the last ball where he was run out.

WATCH the confusion in the middle as Dube goes for DRS after being adjusted out by the on-field umpire:

Dube came at a position where he was going to play his hard-hitting shots after a steady partnership between Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ambati Rayudu made CSK recover from a slow start. They lost Uthappa and Moeen Ali early but both Gaikwad and Rayudu's return to form helped CSK recover from a bad position.

The pair had a brilliant 92-run stand before Rayudu went after scoring a good 42 off 31 balls. Ruturaj played well for his 73 but he was also dismissed at the wrong time when Yash Dayal provided the breakthrough for the Titans during the 17th over.

In the end, it was Shivam Dube and CSK's skipper Ravindra Jadeja who stitched a handy 38-run partnership to take the team to a total of 169. Dube's DRS decision to remain not out didn't result in a big change as he ended up contributing only 19 runs off 17 balls. He would eventually be dismissed off the final delivery after trying to go for a second run. His run-out made the Super Kings finish their innings with 5 wickets going down while Jadeja remained unbeaten on 22 off just a dozen deliveries.
