All 10 wickets in Ranji innings! Former Mumbai Indians pacer scripts history, highlights himself for IPL 2025 auction

Kamboj has become only the third bowler in Ranji Trophy history to take all 10 wickets in an innings.

Former Mumbai Indians pacer Anshul Kamboj made history on Friday (Novemeber 15) by becoming only the third bowler in Ranji Trophy history to take all 10 wickets in an innings.

In the Group C match against Kerala, Haryana’s Anshul Kamboj dominated on Day 2, taking out all four of Kerala’s half-centurions by tea before reaching a historic milestone. This performance also saw Kamboj surpass 50 First-Class wickets in just his 19th match. Kamboj ended Day 2 with eight wickets to his name.

On the morning of Day 3, he took his ninth wicket by bowling out Basil Thampi, and then completed his 10-wicket haul by dismissing Shoun Roger, helping to bowl Kerala out for 291 in their first innings.

Kamboj finished with remarkable figures of 10/49, becoming only the third bowler in Ranji Trophy history to take all 10 wickets in an innings. The other two bowlers who achieved this are Premangshu Chatterjee of Bengal (10/20 against Assam in 1956) and Pradeep Sundaram of Rajasthan (10/78 against Vidarbha in 1985).

The Haryana pacer is also just the sixth Indian to take a 10-wicket haul in First-Class cricket, joining the ranks of Anil Kumble, Subhash Gupte, and Debashish Mohanty.

The previous best innings figures for a Haryana bowler were held by Joginder Sharma, who took eight wickets against Vidarbha in the 2004/05 season.

Kamboj’s Impressive Performance Ahead of IPL 2025 Auction

Anshul Kamboj, who played only three matches in his debut season for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024, was released by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. However, his recent outstanding performance could not have come at a better time, with the IPL 2025 auction just days away.

His impressive display with the ball is likely to have caught the attention of several franchises, especially with the auction approaching.

Kamboj has been in excellent form in red-ball cricket, having taken 8/69 in a Duleep Trophy match against India B in September. He also played in the ACC Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup in October. With his recent performances and rising reputation, Kamboj is expected to draw interest from IPL franchises and secure a spot for the upcoming season.
