David Warner not happy with CA’s handling of Ball tampering Allegations Against India A during 1st Unofficial Test

Warner is of the opinion that the CA looked to bury the incident as soon as possible.

The India A team, comprising a few senior team players and youngsters are currently locking horns against Australia A squad for two unofficial Test matches ahead of the upcoming high-octane Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) to get some much-needed practice time.

However, the recent unofficial first Test match between Australia A and India A was marred by a ball-tampering controversy after multiple scratches were found on the ball. The umpires eventually replaced the ball before the final day, sparking a dispute with the India A players, who insisted they had done nothing wrong.

While Cricket Australia (CA) later put the matter to rest by clarifying that the reason behind the tampered ball is unknown and no one will face sanctions for it, former Aussie opener David Warner seemed to be unhappy with the decision.

David Warner feels CA buried the incident

Furthermore, Warner is of the opinion that the CA looked to bury the incident as soon as possible, given that it happened right before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

“I think the ultimate decision’s with CA, isn’t it? “I think they’ve obviously squashed it as fast as they could, given that India’s coming out here this summer. But if the umpires deem that something happened, then I’m sure there’ll be a follow-up and I think the umpires or the match referee should be standing here answering those questions,” Warner told reporters.

India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan nearly found himself in hot water after calling the umpire’s choice to change the ball ‘stupid’ but he managed to avoid any formal consequences, receiving only an informal warning on the field.

The second unofficial Test between AUS A vs IND A is scheduled to begin on Thursday (November 7), in Melbourne.
