‘I Don’t Speak to MS Dhoni… Been 10 Years’ – Shocking Claim From Former CSK and India Player

There have been previous reports of several players being unsatisfied with the way Dhoni treated them under his tenure.

MS Dhoni has been one of India’s greatest players, leading them successfully across formats. However, a former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player has admitted his relations with him aren’t smooth, and the two don’t talk to each other either.

Harbhajan Singh, who has previously played for CSK in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has revealed shockingly his sour relations with the legendary captain. On News18, Harbhajan stated that barring the on-field tactics while playing for CSK, he and Dhoni didn’t speak much, even while playing together.

“No, I don’t speak to Dhoni. When I was playing at CSK, that’s when we spoke, but otherwise, we haven’t spoken. It’s been 10 years and more. I have no reason; perhaps he does. I don’t know what the reasons are. When we were playing in the IPL at CSK, that’s when we used to talk, and that, too, was restricted to the ground.”

There have been previous reports of several players being unsatisfied with the way Dhoni treated them under his tenure. The main reason behind the rift is assumed to be sidelined despite giving multiple match-winning performances for India at their peak.

MS Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh played ample cricket together

MS Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh might not be on the same page anymore, but the two have played a significant number of games together in India and CSK colours. Under MS Dhoni’s leadership, Harbhajan has found ample success across formats, and the duo formed a solid partnership as a bowler and wicketkeeper.

Under MS Dhoni, Harbhajan has 229 wickets at an average of 34.04 in 155 innings across formats, including four five-wicket hauls. In the IPL, he has 23 wickets at an average of 24.30 and a strike rate of 18.73 in 23 innings across two seasons under his captaincy.

The two won the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup together before winning an IPL title with Chennai Super Kings in 2018. They also came close to winning their second consecutive title but fell short by one run the next year.

Whatever the reasons, Harbhajan has made a shocking claim about his relations with MS Dhoni. Maybe he feels his snub was unfair, which led to rifts between the two players.
