A chink in Rohit Sharma’s technique? Watch his sequence of similar dismissals including the latest one against Tim Southee

Rohit has been dismissed in a similar fashion multiple times previously

During the ongoing IND vs NZ 2nd Test, India skipper Rohit Sharma once again faltered to get going with the bat, getting dismissed for a nine-ball duck to a scintillating delivery by Kiwi pacer Tim Southee.

With the dismissal, Rohit lost his wicket to Southee for a record 14th time – the highest any bowler has dismissed the Indian skipper across all formats along with Proteas speedster Kagiso Rabada.

While undoubtedly Southee’s delivery was impeccable, there is certainly more than what meets the eye.

Notably, Rohit has been dismissed in a similar fashion multiple times previously too. While Rohit Sharma is undoubtedly one of the most complete and talented batters in the modern era, there seems to be chink in his technique.

Rohit has increasingly faced difficulties with specific kinds of deliveries.

It’s usually a good length delivery around the middle and off with sideways movement where the dynamic right-hander falls prey.

Is there a chink in Rohit Sharma’s batting technique?

If observed closely, it could be noticed Rohit’s front foot is a bit rigid which puts him in an awkward position where his body opens up too much, disturbing his balance.

Let’s see the video below of Rohit’s similar dismissals to understand better.

Speaking about the match, Rohit’s dismissal was the only wicket to fall for India as they closed the opening day of the decisive second game with the scoreboard reading 16 for 1 with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill at the crease.

Earlier, India’s latest addition Washington Sundar justified his selection by picking up his maiden fifer in the longest format. Sundar finished his spell with incredible figures of 23.1-4-59-7 as the visitors got bundled out for a subpar 259.
