India’s likely playing XI for 1st T20I against Bangladesh

The captain, Suryakumar Yadav, will find it arduous to settle with an XI, for the depth and quality of the squad are insane.

The first T20I of the three-match T20I series between India and Bangladesh will occur tomorrow in Gwalior. India have a strong squad, laced with a number of match-winners from the top to the bottom.

The captain, Suryakumar Yadav, will find it arduous to settle with an XI, for the depth and quality of the squad are insane. However, he must filter down the best ones and form an ideal XI that should come at the top against a quality Bangladesh side.

Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson are confirmed as openers and will form a fine LHB-RHB combo at the top. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav, the best T20I batter in the country, will take the No.3 spot and look to take the innings forward at an ideal pace.

Riyan Parag should take the No.4 position and start as a spin-bowling all-rounder who would also give a couple of overs with the ball if required. Shivam Dube has been ruled out due to a back injury, which would open the doors for Nitish Kumar Reddy, who might take the No.5 slot and play as an all-rounder.

Varun Chakravarthy to return; Mayank Yadav set to make his India debut

Hardik Pandya, the finest white-ball all-rounder in the country, should grab the No.6 position and contribute with both bat and ball. He will provide the much-needed balance to the side.

Rinku Singh, the pace-hitter, will bat in the lower order and should be in the No.7 position for this game. He will bat as a finisher and provide the final flourish to the innings, something he has done for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and India in his career in the shortest format.

Varun Chakravarthy, who is back in the squad after a sensational IPL 2024, should also make it to the XI and will be the first specialist spinner of the side. Arshdeep Singh should be the left-arm pacer and take the No.9 spot, whereas Ravi Bishnoi will be the second spinner and No.10 in the XI.

The latest pace sensation, Mayank Yadav, is in the line for the India debut and should play tomorrow. He will be the second speedster in the side.
